Welcome to my page, I hope you like it.
I'm a violin maker and violinist from the Netherlands and I assemble and finish special and rare violins.
I pay much attention to design,detail and a unique finish.
Because I'm a violin player also  I have much feeling with the sound and playability of my instruments.
I select high quality tone wood myself from my suppliers and order most beautiful carved custom parts.
My speciality is making violins with sympathetic strings.
I developed a system to fit them on just normal violins.
Sympathetic strings are strings resonating below the normal playing strings and so resonate with the notes you play.
The effect is a subtle  rich and spacious tone wich is very welcome when playing in dry accoustic rooms or outside.
By tradition sympathetic strings are used on Norwegian Hardanger fiddle and Viola d'amore.
